DRIVER CPC CONSORTIUM

The first thing we should do is answer the question, What is a Driver CPC Consortium?

This usually refers to an organization, company or accredited training provider that provides training and services related to the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence, including driver CPC checks, and any specific DVLA CPC check.

CPC is a mandatory qualification for any driver who is in charge of a bus, coach, LGV lorry or ADR lorry/truck and allows the driver to legally operate a commercial vehicle of this type in the UK and across the EU.

This training was put in place to make sure that drivers go through a certain number of hours of periodic training (35 in five years) to build up existing driving skills and safety awareness.

It was introduced to improve road safety and ensure that drivers have the necessary skills and knowledge to operate vehicles safely and efficiently.

Keep It Legal is approved as a driver CPC consortium which means we are qualified to train you and/or your team to be able to offer driver CPC training and related services. This of course has huge benefits, not least, of course, is the saving of costs with sending your drivers and managers to external courses.

Having this skill internally in your business saves both time and money. Your drivers can take the required training at your premises instead of having to travel.

A consortium can be several training companies working together, and Keep It Legal not only provide its skills and experience to help you achieve accredited status as a CPC trainer, but can also call on its partners across the UK to help undertake this training.

Keep It Legal offers a wide range of CPC training modules for you and your team including road safety, SAFED, vehicle maintenance, legal requirements, and more.

This collaborative approach to support the concept of internal training for drivers means a benefit to the whole driver and transportation sector because we then develop drivers that are well-trained and knowledgeable, contributing to safer roads and better professional standards in the trucking and logistics sector.
