Driver Medicals back on offer – D4Drivers clinics reopen
Driver Medical company D4Drivers has started to reopen some of its centres with 30 opening across the UK from this week.
The Company plans to open another 45 centres as time goes on with PPE and other safety measures being installed. Drivers remain in their cars on arrival until being called in by the doctor.
Clinics offering D4 medicals were forced to close due to the COVID-19 pandemic which left many HGV drivers struggling to renew their licence or even start the process to gain their provisional licence.
In April, DVLA announced that drivers with licences expiring in 2020 would be given an extension for 12 months without submitted a medical. However those with acquired (grandfather) rights were left out of the extension leaving many still unable to drive (link here).
As of writing the current D4Driver clinics open include:
– Bridgend
– Brighton
– Bristol
– Burnley
– Canterbury
– Cardiff
– Central London
– Colchester
– Coventry
– Purfleet
– Doncaster
– Durham
– Eastleigh
– Exeter
– Glasgow
